Lately I’ve been in the biggest reading rut ever, I normally love reading and I also write but lately I’ve just not been able to finish anything I’ve started, I just drop it for no apparent reason. I read 90%+ of A Game of Thrones and 50%+ of Dune before dropping it and I have no idea why. Also, most books I try out lately seem boring to me, despite having amazing reviews (such as Skyward by Brandon Sanderson or Dark Matter by Blake Crouch)
Please recommend me a book that’ll hook me on like nothing else and just consume my mind until I finish it.
Last book that did this to me was the Red Rising series by Pierce Brown. Consumed absolutely every piece of media on that sh. My all time favourite fiction books include The Stranger by Camus and Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. Thank yall in advance 🙂
TL;DR: I’ve been dropping every book I start and even books with amazing reviews seem boring lately. Need a book to get me hooked. Favs include Red Rising (recently), The Stranger and Frankenstein.

Read something short. The Old Man and the Sea.
My Dark Vanessa
Big Little Lies
Disc World books are short, and there are a ton of them.
Or for something completely different, The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt; A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, or just something as a palette cleanser?
The Martian by Andy Wier (Fun near future Scifi)
The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch (grim fantasy)
Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson (whimsical fantasy)
Enders Game by Orson Scott Card (classic scifi)
Steel World by B.V. Larson (scifi mercenaries)
Live Free or Die by John Ringo (funny scifi)
Under a Graveyard Sky by John Ringo (zombie military fiction)
Theft of Swords by Micheal J. Sullivan (fun buddy cop fantasy)
