    I have recently started reading for fun again and I am having a really difficult time finding books that interest me. So far, I have almost finished reading,"A man called Ove". Which I did enjoy a lot.

    Over the last week I've been looking for another book with a female main character, navigating life, healing and learning from experiences however whenever I read summaries of books that look very interesting, I'm eventually turned off because a man is ALWAYS involved and there is always a relationship story line or love interest plot twist. Which is not a bad thing but it's not what I want to read.

    Any recommendations?

      {My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante} somewhat fits the bill. It does have love interests for both the female leads throughout the series. However, the primary emphasis in this book is on the changing friendship between Elena and Lila rather than their romantic relationships.

      If you’re into psychological thrillers, I recommend {Jane Doe by Victoria Helen Stone}. It does have a romance plot line but it’s SO INCREDIBLY MINOR I don’t even remember his name.

      If you’re into Fantasy, {the Poppy War by RF Kuang} is a series. I’m reading the second book but there hasn’t been any romance so far, so you might like this as well!

      Wish You Well (a bit of male, but the main focus is on 2 very strong females-one old, one very young)

      Last one at the party, by Bethany Clift. Empowered female although with some flashbacks of her past life with men.

      Female main character- you’ve got to read the next book

      {{My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry by  Fredrik Backman}}

      Such a great story….
