and also maybe how we respond (or not respond) to it? in the same vein of Regarding the Pain of Others by Susan Sontag because i just finished it (rereading it here and there) and i'm fixated on the topic right now. i like how she was able to pull from different sources and cite actual harrowing events, as well as not be too focused on ones from America (i'm not American). i've seen similar ones that are focused on social media (just not exactly what i'm looking for right now) and less emphasis on the events (?) but i'm not sure if that's what i want, with that said i would still also love recommendations that may be similar in some significant way

When I want (nonfiction) book suggestions on a topic, I start with the Wikipedia article’s appendices (notes/references/sources/further reading/external links sections), and the [article itself](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Effects_of_violence_in_mass_media) (“Effects of violence in mass media”) for an overview.
