Hello!! I’m new to this sub & only the past year started picking up my love of reading!
My coworkers & I have started a small book club & it’s my turn to pick a book. They don’t normally like or read mysteries/psychological thriller/horror (but I do) so I want to pick a really good one with a twist (and maybe inspire them to read more mystery/psychological thriller)
I also wanted to pick one I haven’t already read, ideally I think the silent patient/the housemaid/Behind Closed doors / the woman in the window would’ve been perfect but I’ve already read them.
So I’m looking for good mystery/thriller (similar to those) with a TWIST that they’ll never see coming
Preferably not anything too “disturbing” as I don’t want to put them off from the genre lol
(By that I mean not books like Gone Girl, His & Hers, etc )
Some books I’ve read:
– the locked door (McFadden)
– the wife upstairs (Hawkins)
– have you seen her (McKenzie)
– what lies between us (Marrs)
– just the nicest couples (Kubica)
– and then there were none (Christie)
– a flicker in the dark (Willingham)
– killers of a certain age (Raybourn)
– the other people (Tudor)
– secluded cabin sleeps six (Unger)
– the lying game (ware)
– when you see me (Gardner)
– take your breath away (Barclay)
– then she was gone (Jewell)
– a stranger in the house (Lapena)
– wrong place, wrong time (McAllister) ETC
I was thinking between:
The Woman in Cabin 10, The Guest List, or Local Woman Missing. Any other suggestions?
