I’m on a cusp of that wonderful moment in life, when shall I decide to have kids I will most likely be marked with a term “geriatric pregnancy”. I never been really into kids, and I’m not sure I even want to have kids… but at the same time I feel a huge FOMO on this topic.
I know there have been multiple threads now with recommendations on motherhood topics. I think what I’m looking for is a couple of books that describe both sides of the story – decision to be child free as well as deciding to have kids when you do not know how it’s gonna be like.
Not sure if anyone had the same thoughts?
Thanks

This is a significant plot point in The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. The entire book focuses on the concepts of FOMO and choices we make in life, so might fit what you are looking for
The Father: Historical, Psychological and Cultural
I liked the essay collection Selfish, Shallow, & Self-Absorbed: Sixteen Writers on the Decision Not to Have Kids edited by Meghan Daum. If I recall correctly there was at least one writer who’d decided she didn’t want kids but then ended up having them so it was interesting to see the comparison in her feelings.
