Do you guys know of any books where a teacher is protagonist or one of the principal characters? Ideally a woodshop focused teacher, or one in STEM at least. Looking for fiction, but will take non-fiction recs as well. I was thinking along the lines of Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. Thank you!!!

Your post has made me realize I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with a science teacher main character, besides Project Hail Mary.
* The Fold by Peter Clines. The main character is an english literature teacher. In terms of writing style, this one is most similar to Andy Weir, but it is much more fast and loose with the laws of physics. To me, it reads like a blockbuster meant to appeal to those who know nothing about science and just want a thrilling tale.
* Senlin Ascends by Josiah Bancroft. The main character is a teacher of all subjects in a one-room schoolhouse.
* Have Space Suit, Will Travel by Robert A. Heinlein. The main character is not a teacher, he is a student, but when I read Project Hail Mary it reminded me *a lot* of this book due to how the story focuses on engineering and problem solving.
