--VitaminB-- on August 10, 2024 12:56 am I’m into science and medical history, so my recs may or may not be your thing, but if you like that sort of thing: The Butchering Art by Lindsay Fitzharris – history of antiseptics in surgeries, and specifically about the contributions of Joseph Lister. The Demon Under the Microscope by Thomas Hager – History of sulpha drugs, and their link to Nazi Germany. The Bastard Brigade by Sam Kean – History of physicists who worked to subvert the Nazi bomb effort in WWII.
