Historical nonfiction about life on the frontier/prairie (I just finished “The Indifferent Stars Above”)

Hi all,

I finished The Indifferent Stars Above, and was captivated. Obviously the crazy situation they got themselves into on the Oregon Trail was fascinating, but what I really loved was the general atmosphere of the first half of the book. Explaining life in the early/mid 1800s in the form of a novel.

I’m reading Killers of The Flower Moon, which focuses more on the crazy situation than the actual life of people living in Oklahoma in the 1800s.

Any suggestions? Thank you for any help!
