    Hey folks,

I’m looking for books on the general idea of wilderness exploration/oceanic exploration. Can be fiction or non fiction, mystery or thriller, I’m open to all suggestions.

I know it’s a big topic but the book stores near me aren’t too helpful on this topic 🙂

    1. What immediately springs to mind for me is the books by Clive Cussler, more specifically his Dirk Pitt series. Much of the exploration tends to be oceanic based, and is searching for that book’s big archaeological location, be it a shipwreck or long lost ancient temple. It very much has strong Indiana Jones vibes, though in a somewhat more contemporary setting. Probably the main reason I suggest it is the author’s love of the sea and experience actually hunting for shipwrecks just comes through extremely strongly.

Some of the books can be a little hit or miss, but I know that I polished some off in a few days when they really got going. If you’re interested I can try and come up with a recommended book if you have more specific interests.
