I am really tired of reading books where the FMC has a massive amount of humanity and compassion lol. Those who are humble. It just seems every book Ive read recently the main character is described as clever and strong, but in reality, they cant do much of anything that has any ounce of violence or bad will. its getting on my nerves that these heros are in war torn countries, or trying to avenge their families, friends, lovers after they were murdered, or trying to escape from an abusive situation, but all of them have virtually no spine. They “pale at the sight of blood”, appose any crumb of violence no matter if its to their abuser or the one trying to kill them, and call themselves a monster for protecting themselves or their loved ones. Like, it seems the main arc in all these stories and what drives the plot, is their humane actions that make the situation worse than if they just killed the person or whatever.
I want a FMC that is the “villain”, who has drive, ambition, and fierceness that will do whatever she can to achieve her goals. I preferably like fantasy with a splash of romance. The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller is similar to what i am looking for.
