I recently finished The Count Of Monte Cristo, which for me was a very long but very enjoyable read. I have read a few books since then and I have found myself sort of yearning for another book like it. The book doesn’t necessarily have to be long but one that is equally as engrossing would be good. Something that gets you fully invested in the characters and world in a way that has you rooting for both the hero and villains. It also doesn’t have to be a classic book but I’m certainly not against them. Any books that you loved as much as Monte Cristo? Any Ideas would be appreciated! Thanks a lot!

*The Baron Of Magister Valley*, by Steven Brust. Part of his Dragaera/Vlad Taltos fantasy series, it is explicitly based upon *The Count Of Monte Cristo*, by Alexandre Dumas.

The earlier books in the series, also known as *The Khaavren Romances*, are inspired by Dumas’ *The Three Musketeers* book and its sequels.
