I have just finished All the Beauty in the World: The Metropolitan Museum of Art and Me, by Patrick Bringley.
I work in museums and I found this portrayal of one of the biggest museums in the world so brilliant and surprisingly emotional. I have wanted to work in museums since I was a child, and the author's writing captured the magic of museums and the power of art so wonderfully. Museums are beautiful, weird, challenging and moving places and this book highlights every aspect of them.
I couldn't recommend this book to anyone and everyone enough!
Has anyone else had a similar experience with their job, either in fiction or non-fiction?
