Hey all!
My partner has recently gotten pretty hardcore into reading, averaging a book a week after not having finished a book in like 5 years. She got her start with Fourth Wing/Iron Flame (I know the opinions, be nice) and has since basically just been binging Romantasy.
She's interested in reading outside that scope, but finds it hard to know where to start, as she's scared of putting herself off reading again.
Some books/series she's loved:
Fourth Wing – Rebecca Yarros
One Dark Window – Rachel Gillig
Circe – Madeline Miller
The Silent Patient – Alex Michaelides
The Tattooist of Auschwitz – Heather Morris
She's tried and been mixed on:
ACoTaR – Sarah J. Maas (feels the story is weak other than the romance)
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue – V.E. Schwab (loved it in the end, but felt it was too slow until then, this tends to be a big thing for her)
Some she didn't like:
Divine Rivals – Rebecca Ross
Anything Colleen Hoover (her friend bought her lots and she was not a fan)
She's said she's interested in fantasy primarily, she loves the magic. She also reckons she isn't interested in sci-fi, which hurts my soul, but it is what it is.
