Hey all. Recently new to horror books (was always a historical non-fiction reader), so I'm looking for some good recs. I particularly like when there's stuff in a horror book that bends the rules of reality, that really makes you have to think… I understand this may be really broad, so I'm going to list some books I really liked and what I liked about them. Any recommendations welcome, thank you!
The Exorcist – Probably my favorite horror book I've read. Really loved how during Regan's possession, she was uttering stuff from ancient languages, and how her body was able to contort and change the way it did.
Between Two Fires – LOVED this. It felt like a fever dream, and that's what I want more of. How reality was kind of crumbling around the characters, and you couldn't tell what was real.
The Silent Companions – Very very very good book. Don't know if there was much bending of reality in this one, but nonetheless one of my faves.
House of Leaves – Just finished this one. Not necessarily looking for something as meta as this, but I loved the story line of the Navidson Record.
Thank you in advance!
