I am planning to gift 13 books to my son – as he gets into his teenage.
He is turning (13 in a month’s time! Yaay!!)

He likes reading and has largely done Tintin, Asterix, Harry Potter, Narnia.

He hasn’t yet started fiction – but is open to getting to read such.
He liked Murder in Orient Express (movie) – so, am planning to add mystery to the list.
He is just getting his first taste of Science Fiction – and has read The Body Problem and is now reading The Dark Forest.

Pls help me curate a book list for him – that we can give him for his birthday.
Just want to keep age appropriate stuff for a 13-14 year old

Here’s some that I have thought of –
    And Then There Were None

    The Mysterious affair at Syles

To Kill a Mockingbird – a bit of profanity, but beyond that I think it will be lovely book for him to read.

Catcher in the Rye – same!

Kane and Able – would it be okay for him to read this at his age

Not a Penny More, Not a Penny less – any other on Jeffrey Archer?

    Pls suggest

I think And Then There Were None would be a great pick.

      Would also recommend:
Hatchet by Gary Paulson (if he hasn’t read it already)

The Underland Chronicles by Suzanne Collin’s (first book is Gregor the Overlander)

      The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
