I am in a bit boring place in my personal life and I want the captivating fan-like feeling that "twilight" brought me when I was a teenager and that "pride and prejudice" brought me when I was in my 20s.
I don't usually read fiction because I forget the characters and stories in a week after I finish the book. It's hard for me to get invested really.
What was the most captivating book (preferably not series) which you can recommend me?
I am open for anything – romance, erotica included.

I recommend trying Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire. It’s only around 200 pages so nice and short but so entertaining.
The Egyptian, by Waltari.
Fourth Wing gave me some of the same vibes as Twilight. This is not my normal genre at all, but something about it was just as addictive as those books were almost 20 years ago.
