Eighty percent of my reading is usually fiction. The rest is usually science/history books. But this last month I cannot for the life of me stick to a novel. I have tried everything: re-reading past favourites, reading a bunch of new books, new genres, etc. Everything failed, I am quite deep into a fiction slump.
I specifically say “fiction slump” because, on the other hand, I have been reading and engaging with non-fiction (science and history books). This past July I have read six non-fiction books but zero fiction ones.
I honestly don’t know if I should keep trying reading fiction until it clicks again or just read non-fiction, which is what I feel like reading now, with the hopes of after a little break from fiction I’ll get back to it eventually.
Have any of you experienced something similar?
