Edge of the seat, soul empty-ing thriller

I am talking about a book that keeps me turning pages by the second. I don't read horror a lot because I get scared easily but I love existential horror of sorts. That emphasize on the vast emptiness of the universe or that emphasize on the horrors of your brain not quite being on your side. It has been a while since I read a blockbuster -a psychological 'horror'/thriller Literature folks, hit me with your best recommendation!
