Book focused on alternative universities or education style. Or ones focused on the history/structure of higher education as a whole?

I’m interested in more advanced book that talk about the history of education, going from technical universities towards a push towards a liberal arts education. However, specifically one that talks about alternative structures that work. Such as Reed College or Browns open major system.
