For context, I only started developing a reading habit in February. I tried this in the past, but this time I actually stuck to it and I tried reading a little every day. I have read 5 books (Bret Easton Ellis – American Psycho/Lunar Park/The Shards; Phil Collins' autobiography; Charles Bukowski – Pulp) since then, not just for completion sake. I actually enjoyed the books and in the case of the Ellis novels, I even spent extra time reading theories and analyses online. Currently I am reading "The Plot Against America" by Philip Roth. This is another great book so far, but it's the first one that made me go days without reading sometimes.

Any ideas/tricks on how to deal with a reading slump?

    1. Set yourself a daily minimum goal of at least X minutes/pages of reading a day. If you exceed them (“only two more pages in this chapter, might as well finish it”) well and good, if not, you’ve still read something. I’m getting myself through a chunky book this way, and enjoying it more than I expected to!
