I’m searching for novels that have unusual sci fi elements in them (I think I read like 2 sci fi books in my entire life, I’ve mostly encountered this genre in visual media but I’d like to explore it more deeply). I just feel like most sci fi books I got recommended this far are so dark but I want smth softer, less grey and more green
So here are some ideas im thinking abt:
– Something that’s not happening in the galaxy with spaceship but rather feels very earthy🪷₊˚(with perhaps nature taking over some parts of civilisations?).
– deep emotional connections and RELATIONSHIPS (all kinds not just romantic ofc)
– religious themes, can be well established ones that exist in our reality like Christianity, Buddhism etc… or smth based on pagan beliefs or mythology. (I really like the badass nuns in Dune)
– amazing bonus if the protagonist is a girl

-> the manga DESIGNS by Daisuke Igarashi!!
-> i really enjoyed the newest adaptation of Dune (which I haven’t read yet but planning to).
-> love Aya Takano’s paintings with sci fi elements, love and nature: all cohexisting in such a symbiotic way
