I know this is a very specific request but hoping for some good recs. Would gratefully accept both fiction and non-fiction recommendations — to be clear, I'm not looking for self-help books. I'm looking for books about people (real or fictional) who embody this quality.
Some specific examples:
- Robert Caro's the Years of Lyndon Johnson — LBJ had a tendency to work himself to hospitalization and was willing to go to any length (for better or worse) in pursuit of his dream of becoming President.
- To a slightly lesser extent: The episode "Forks" in season 2 of the Bear in which Richie, who's resistant at first, develops a passion for hard work.

I think you need to look at the Progression Fantasy genera. Try Cradle by Will Wight.
