Just finished this book and while yes it is sad, I’m feeling more anger than anything. Many parts evoke anger than can be due to the poor behavior shown by Charlie’s “friends” but the acts of his mother, Rose, I simply cannot believe. I firmly believe she had to have her own mental issues before Charlie knowing she is now senile. Maybe I’m lucky enough to have been raised with a phenomenal mother who would have never treated me this way if I were to be in such a condition as Charlie, but I want to know more about Rose. She acted like it was his fault that he is the way he is and like Charlie was choosing to be retarded to defy her. I’m sitting with aggressive feelings because I’m hurt that she would treat someone with special needs, let alone HER SON, with such disgust and cruelty 😢.
