So re-doing this today after the last post wound up being a disaster due to spoilers (that post has been deleted). Ok, so last night I've finished reading Koji Suzuki's "Loop". This the final book of his Ring trilogy.
Again we're following yet another different character named Kaoru Futami as he is seeking answers in the deserts of New Mexico as the world is being ravaged by a deadly new form of cancer. And those answers may lie in a secret project known as the "Loop" project. A virtual reality world created by top scientists. So now it is a race against time for Kaoru to save not just his very loved ones but also the entire world.
So yet again Suzuki does another reinvention as he had done with "Spiral", and yes this was another intended stand alone novel. Just when I had everything figured with the trilogy I'm literally thrown a loop with this one! Some may issues with this but for me it just more of the weirdness that I've come to know and love about this trilogy.
There are some collections of short stories that Suzuki has also put out that are very much connected with the whole trilogy. I really gotta check them out!
