Lolita. Don’t know if I can say I liked it. It is an excellently written book but it made my skin crawl to read it.

A lot of people would say Holden Caulfield from ‘Catcher in the Rye’ would fit here.
To be honest, I identified quite a lot with him when I read it, so maybe I am an asshole, but it has been a long time, so perhaps I would recognize him more as an asshole now.
I’ll also add Clyde Griffiths from ‘An American Tragedy’.

High Fidelity.
I couldn’t stop thinking “how much I hate this guy” during the whole book, but I enjoyed it and found it very easy to read.
