Call me cringe, call me someone who wants to read a book with no literary value, however, I've never read anything as magical, and relatable, and comforting, and romantic as Twilight!

I think the characters, the genuine feelings, and the human experience in a healing relationship after dealing with past trauma (e.g. emotionally unavailable, egoiatic mother who could barely take care of herself) has never been conducted in such an addicting way in any other YA book, ever.

The only other book series that ever provided me with the same feeling of comfort and hope was either Harry Potter series (deep development of the themes such as past trauma, abandonment, the power of friendships/relationships, kindness, bravery, and other emotional and heroic stuff) or the Hunger Games series (also has a great development of themes such as trauma,
emotional unavailability, and this darkness that follows the human psyche.)

So I really really want to read something similar to that. I think the most important is the feeling of longing, and the dark, hollowy atmosphere, full of whimsy, as well as deep character development, genuine ROMANCE, and a sense of hope? I would LOVE it if it was set in some whimsical, gloomy place like Scotland, or Northern England, or something elsewhere that's so comforting, like the forests in Oregon, or some other depressing, yet comforting setting.

It doesn't necessarily have to be young adult, could be something more complicated, of course, since I'm 25 and not 15 anymore. I'm open to any suggestions of books or book series that gave you the feeling that I could convey those similar feelings

In emojis, I could describe it as: 🕯️🍂🌲🦉🎃🖤🔮🦇🌙🌹🧿

    HOPE THAT HELPS 🤭
