I’m looking for books (or movies/tv) where the plot involves a writer getting immersed in what they’re writing and their reality and the fiction they create start to merge or intertwine (maybe there’s a word for this specific plot line?) It could be leaning more into thriller category or be more of a suspenseful drama.
I can only think of cinematic examples such as The affair series and the movie Basic Instinct lol, but would love to find books like that! Any suggestions?? Thank you!

I was just reminded of *The Unauthorised Biography of Ezra Maas* in another thread here, which I offered as a follow-up to *The House of Leaves*. Both these examples meet your criteria.
