I’ve been outspoken about how I couldn’t get through this book. I just read Stephenson’s Seveneves and enjoyed it a lot, barring some nitpicks with the ending, and decided to give Crytonomicon another shot. I’ve already got the paperback, but I spotted a used hardcover edition on eBay for $8 and free shipping, so I took my shot, ordered it, and it just arrived.
The reseller apparently didn’t read the sticker on the cover, and I now have a signed first edition Crypto. How cool is that?

Went through a big Neal Stephenson phase in my early twenties. The baroque cycle will always be my fave (I doubt I could read it now) but Cryptonomicon is a close second.
Big fan. Such a good book, absolutely insane, like nothing I’ve ever read really (apart from Neal Stephenson’s Baroque Trilogy, which I read right afterward and I recommend you do as well, it is basically a prequel).
