Not really an age thing. Not really a depression thing. Not really a genre thing. I just find that I don't get much out of reading anymore.
I don't remember much about books, even the seldom few that I chose to re-read. This has always been a thing irrespective of age. I even have favourites, but I doubt I can give you a summary of what they're about.
Maybe age has a bit to do with it. Less free time, reading isn't as easily fulfilling, reading isn't fun.
But the worst part is looking backwards and feeling like a lot of that spent reading time was pointless. I don't feel like I took much out of it. And all my peers who don't read seem to be much happier in general.
Bit of a melancholic ramble. I still go to the library. I check out books. But I may have come to the realization that I don't get much out of it.
