Hi! I am looking for a book with moody and neurotic narrators or protagonists. I've always had a preference for first person narration, but I am open to anything! Examples of books that have characters along this vein that I have enjoyed reading are The Catcher in the Rye, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Less Than Zero. I am particularly interested in that psychological element and unraveling why these characters are the way that they are. I also enjoy memoirs!
As for a tone, I love books that have at least a little bit of satire and comedy in them, and I'm not looking for anything too heavy that will totally depress me once I am done reading.
I would love to hear anybody's suggestions even if they don't totally align with what I am looking for! Thank you so much in advance!
