I adore the grounded-stakes, warm tone and style of Becky Chambers' works, and I was hoping to find some Middle Grade equivalents. I would love to hear your suggestions!
Major soft-spot for sci-fi (especially the kind that feels nostalgic despite being set in a different time perhaps, and especially anything that could be described as 'solarpunk'). That said, grounded fantasy like TJ Klune's HOUSE IN THE CERULEAN SEA is great too!
Context: I shamelessly LOVE middle grade book that aren't 'childish', but just genuinely hopeful and accessible to everyone regardless of age, and I've been struggling to find equivalents published post 2000… maybe some of you out there can help me! Thank you in advance 🙂
