Looking for books where the MC loses their innocence. Goes from having a naive and idealistic world view to a more realistic one.
I would like fictional recommendations but its been about five years or more since I last read fiction so please be gentle.
Edit: Thinking along the lines of Sansa Stark's character arc. Sweet, innocent and naive before she is thrown out in the real world and overtime realizing how to survive in it.
I do not particularly care about the MC's gender or the world it takes place in.
To add a little more context, I recently had to do something I used to look down upon and considered morally wrong but I realized there is no other way out of my situation.
