I have taken up reading lately and I have really been enjoying the green creek series by TJ Klune. I am currently in Heartsong (Book 3) and I am having a blast. The overarching plot planted in Book 1 has been intriguing and the plot twists and revelations throughout the series thus far have left me with a mixture of frustration and sympathy for our main protagonists. The relationships are the best part of the series in my opinion. No character is introduced without having a bigger part in the series later on. The romantic relationships that have been building up since the first books are each different in how they began and how they evolve. No couple has the same origin story or way of loving as another. Ox and Joe, Mark and Gordo, etc. Heartsong is not as strong (at least as of now) as the first two books but Kelly and Robbie’s relationship has been so emotional and it’s great to have some ace representation in this series. Hints set up in previous installments take on a whole new meaning especially when relating to Book 3’s protagonists. Kelly has been the “forgotten” Bennett so far so it’s been refreshing to hear his thoughts and how he interacts with the pack during the struggles he is facing with his mate. I have so many thoughts on the book and series as a whole and would like to connect with other readers of the series or readers in general for discussions. Should be fun, right?
