Had a wish list of € 350 worth if books and checked which ones they have at the library and now my wish list is only € 200. They have more of my books from the wish list but I really want to buy a couple of those and own them forever. Do you ever have books where you just know you wanna own them instead of lending them?

I get most of my books from the library. I’ve been burned one too many times by a book I bought that I hated. I’ll buy the book after I read it if I loved it and want to own it.
All the time that’s my problem lol. Yes I will buy before using library to get borrowed books. My wish list probably costs about 5000$
I have to say, as far as hobbies go… this one is incredibly affordable. Especially with libraries and used book stores.
Upvoting this even though I won’t do it.
I have a bad track record of not returning books on time. Even though they abolished late fees it causes me stress knowing I am being “bad” even though I am not a bad person.
So I buy when I can afford, or go without if I can’t, and give away when I am done reading.
I also refuse to borrow anything from friends for the same reason but will lend to them without a thought.
The OP is good advice, as long as you are not like me.
I use my library all the time but I still have a wish list of books for when people want to get me birthday/christmas presents.
Also I just love buying and owning books.
