I have great things about this community. I am an avid reader but i mostly read non fiction like biographies, self-help kinda books. But i am planning to read some good fiction. Would be great if i could get recommended some great fiction books written in contemporary times. Please don’t recommend classics of 18th or 19th century.

Is 1989 contemporary enough? *A Prayer for Owen Meany* is one of my favorite relatively recent fiction books. *The Name of the Rose* by Umberto Eco would be another, but that goes all the way back to 1980.
Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. A lot of long time fiction readers and new fiction readers have enjoyed this book. Its fast paced and gripping.
