    Hello!

Long story short, my dad and 2 teen brothers are living a long ways away from me and the rest of our family, and they are deep into a religious cult. They allow me to send books to the boys for birthdays, etc.

Suggest me a book (midfic, YA or adult) that promotes individual thinking, tolerance, or books about overthrowing an unfair regime, anything like that. Doesn’t have to be so on the nose as long as the overall message is the same.

Ultimately, we want independent thinking and curiosity for the world around them inspired by the books I send along.

    Thanks in advance!

“The Giver” by Lois Lowry or “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley. They’re gripping reads that subtly encourage critical thinking and awareness of societal structures.

    2. “Left Hand of Darkness” by Ursula Le Guin is great at challenging societal norms and rethinking gender roles while at the same time offering top notch world building.
