Getting into reading, sci-fi or light drama recommendations

Hi, my partner is willing to try a Kindle to start reading for leisure. She is a teacher and reads all the time for work, but really hasn’t ever been able to connect reading with pleasure. I am trying to encourage her, however, I’m worried that selecting the wrong book to start off with may be the end. She really enjoys watching sci-fi about dystopian futures and lighter dramas.
Does anyone have a good book that hooks you early on (important) and is quite an easy read?
