This may be a bit niche, but I'm looking for novels that touch on both religion and sexuality, and the ways they interact. As an example, I read and really enjoyed "Milk Fed" by Melissa Broder, in which the narrator grapples with her Jewish heritage while also starting a lesbian relationship.
As someone who has left a high-demand religion that was very controlling of sex and sexuality, I'd love to read more stories that look at the intersection between sex and religion. I'm not looking for a specific kind of sexuality (gay, straight, bi, etc.) but any characters whose sex lives intersect with, or are at odds with their religious life. I'm more interested in books that lean literary, but open to other genres. Bonus points if the book is humorous, but that is not a requirement. Thanks in advance!
