Like what are the elements that make a book good?
I'm reading something right now and slowly realizing that it's mostly concerned with plot and less with revealing anything honest about the human condition, and I realized that that's something that I'm hoping to find in whatever book I pick up. That that sort of reflection and exploration of humanity is what makes something enjoyable for me, and makes a book worth the read. Just wondering what makes a book good in your eyes?

Obviously subjective.
But for me.
It reads well. So it’s not clunky or choppy read (the broom of the system by DFW is one of the most poetic/rhythmic books I’ve ever read)
Interesting characters (The Master and Margrita)
Excellent plot (stormlight archive)
Introspective thoughts at the end (Remains of the day)
Either characters with relatable characteristics, background, or upbringing, and/or characters who are easy to like, I can respect them for who they are at their core.
You know I sat here and tried to coherently describe what makes a book good for me can’t for the life of me say what it is. I’ve picked things up that I never thought I would like and found myself completely enraptured. And the opposite rings true I’ve thought I would love a book and didn’t make it half way through it. I guess it’s just one of those things where something resonates with me internally and the mood I’m in at the time could affect it.
