    1. What aspects of Goosebumps are you hoping to find, specifically?

My first thought is _The Twisted Ones_ and_The Hollow Places_ by T. Kingfisher/Ursula Vernon. Both are relatively short, breezy reads in which average but pro-active people find themselves caught up in an adventure-heavy supernatural horror plot, which feels pretty similar to _Goosebumps_ to me.

They are, as one might expect, markedly darker than _Goosebumps,_ so not ideal if you want a total tonal match.

    2. Try reading any of Stephen King’s novella collections! They are all awesome, but Skeleton Crew and Night Shift are usually on people Top 3 list of his collections (he has like, 12).

The author of Goosebumps, R. L. Stine has written a few adult horror books. His book Red Rain was pretty good. It read like Goosebumps does.

Grady Hendrix and A. Lee Martinez have vibes like R. L. Stine. Also, the books *Episode Thirteen* (Craig DiLouie), *Mister Magic* (Kiersten White), and *A House with Good Bones* (T. Kingfisher) are darker, but still sort of outlandish and weird. Oh! And *Patricia Wants to Cuddle* (Samantha Leigh Allen). I know I have more, but these are off the top of my head, and they’ll lead you to other good books like them (I use Goodreads to find similar books).
