We are a group of 7 ladies that have been meeting for a few months now. Unfortunately the last few books we have read were some real duds. Please suggest some books that are a little spicy, a little intellectua, envelope pushing, thought provoking that will have us not able to put the book down and have riveting conversation over. Thanks!

North woods by Daniel Mason
This House is on Fire by Rachel Beanland
What were the duds? I don’t want to suggest them 😊
The Diary of Anais Nin, Vol. 1: 1931-1934
Fever dream. By Samanta Schweblin. I think is really good. Maybe your groups likes it.
The Clockmaker’s Daughter by Kate Morton. It was a fun read and I enjoyed it (it does meander a lot, but overall I gave it a 4/5).
American Spy by Lauren Wilkinson
Red Widow by Alma Katsu.
The Fervor by Alma Katsu.
Passage by Connie Willis ( not at all spicy, but a great discussion book).
Oona Out of Order by Margarita Montimore
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein!
I read this with my aunt a couple years ago and we had a lot to talk about the whole way through!
Go As a River by Shelley Read
The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot by Marianne Cronin
Signal Fires by Dani Shapiro
Iona Iverson’s Rules for Commuting by Clare Pooley
The Women by Kristen Hannah
The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store by James McBride
Weyward by Emelia Hart
None of these are spicy, but they were all enjoyed by my book group
