Looking for a collection of stories (tales, fables, lore, mythology)

I’m in book club and it’s my turn to choose a book. I want to choose something that everyone could find at least one story they love. That’s why I think a collection of stories would be an amazing choice. Some of us love fiction, others want to read non-fiction, but all of us love the discussion and dissecting part of having a book club.

I truly enjoyed the podcast series Tales. The story choices and the history lessons they gave around each tale or versions of the tale was so interesting. So basically im looking for the book version of Tales. Tales with a side of history. Does that even exist?
