Some of my favorite books lately have a running theme of magic, immortality, death, and time. I'm unsure where to find more and I'm often too picky when I'm looking for new books to read.
The only rule is that the book needs an audiobook version. I like to listen to audiobooks at work and rarely have time for physical reading. The book can really be set in any setting. I'm not big on romance but I do read it occassionally. I enjoy any genre, incuding horror, and I do enjoy the occassional YA book/series if it doesn't linger too long on personal drama.
Some of my favorite books in this genre include:
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North
The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle
The original trilogy for The Old Kingdom by Garth Nix (and Clariel by Garth Nix, but the later books lost my interest)
The Cirque du Freak series by Darren Shan (childhood favorite)
