So not a novel, but books in the style of Gravity Falls journal 3. I know most of those are going to be attached to a tv show or something, but I really want something with secrets, puzzles, maybe cataloguing or solving some sort of mystery (even a murder mystery would be fine). My problem is when I search online I can’t figure out what genre or style of book that would be called, so I keep getting suggested heavily narrative fiction without visuals or artwork. I tried searching graphic novels too but I think what I’m asking for might be too niche? I also own star vs the forces of evil which has a similar feel when it comes to deciphering things and the mystery/lore aspect.
I also like books that have interactive elements like flaps or compartments, letters, etc.
I wonder why there aren’t a bigger selection of books like these or am I just weird for wanting them? I like regular books too but not my vibe at the moment.
