I read the Enemy series by Charlie Higson as a kid and used to love reading. Trying to pick up reading again but feel too old for that series (I’m in highschool now). I also love the last of us games and the show.
I was looking for a zombie book with vibes similar to the game/series last of us and the above mentioned book series.

Maybe you’d like to check out **The Girl With All the Gifts** by M.R. Carey? It’s kind of a unique twist on the zombie genre – it focuses on a special little girl who may hold the key to humanity’s survival.
I started reading this year, and i like the zombie genre, I have read 2 books on zombies:
The first one is “I am legend.” ( i highly recommend this book if you like the post-apocalyptic vibes. it is my favourite so far, even though it isn’t your typical brainless zombie book, but it is set in an apocalypse, and there’s zombie like creatures)
The second one is “World War z.” it is like an aftermath of the zombie apocalypse. It’s a bunch of stories being told by people who have survived and what they have gone through.
P.S. Read, I am legend it’s amazing, and tell me what you think about it when you finish.
I’m not familiar with any of the titles you listed, but I enjoyed *The Forest of Hands and Teeth* by Carrie Ryan back in my twenties, and that was aimed at teenagers. Might want to give it a read soon though, as it looks like there is a movie being made.
