I'm looking for books with very little descriptions on the environment around the character. I've put books down and not gone back to them because they have paragraphs of just detail about the surrounding area. In the most recent book I've bought the necronomicon, almost every short story has a page or pages of just detail about environmental. So I'm looking for a book where most of the story is characters doing something, preferably fantasy, science fiction stuff like that. Thanks

Martha Wells’ *Murderbot Diaries* series of sci-fi novellas is fast-paced, action-oriented with minimal world-building. It follows an ex-military cyborg with a wickedly dry sense of humor that hires out as security to humans at the edge of the galaxy.
The first one is **All Systems Red**
