Looking for a nice story book that somehow helped you process a breakup. I already have a couple self guide books to read about them, but I find a story much easier to process than ones that give me steps and meditation processes. I think it’s probably cause I can relate to the main character. I’ve been thinking of picking up No Longer Human cause I’ve heard it’s helped a lot of people through depression. Any other options?

    1. This is a memoir, so not fiction, but written in a very engaging and narrative way. Everything I Know About Love: A Memoir – Dolly Alderton

I’m halfway through Days at the Morisaki Bookshop and I genuienly feel like I am in therapy. It is so lighthearted and slice-of-life-y. I think there might be some romance in the second half of the book but the first half deals with a breakup. In short, the book is about a woman who loses her boyfriend and her job in a short amount of time and moves into her uncles bookshop. She starts to find herself through books and makes new friends. I havent finished it but I think if you just want a cozy and happy book about finding yourself then Days at the Morisaki Bookshop might be good 🙂

My personal favorite slice-of-life slow burn has been *The Wandering Inn* by Pirateaba. In the last few months, I’ve lost a job, ended a relationship, and lost my grandma. Picking up this behemoth of a novel was a relief because it didn’t stress me out; it just gave me a glimpse into a different world.

This is more of an escape for me then helping me deal with anything directly – that has come from different avenues in my life (therapy/gym/taking care of my pets etc).
