I had had the Thursday Murder Club hyped up to me as an excellent cozy mystery. I’m about 1/3 of the way through the first book and I’m so disappointed! It’s so twee and quirky, I can’t take it seriously at all and it seems like half of it is just one big joke. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it’s popular for a reason but I just can’t imagine reading an entire mystery like this. Can anyone recommend any lowkey mystery series with great characterization and is just, well, NOT super quirky? I’ve loved all Agatha Christie books and was looking for something in the same vein as those.

NGL I’m never sure whats considered cozy mystery and whats not but Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers and Peg and Rose solve a murder seemed pretty cozy to me and were pretty entertaining.

The Truly Devious series is pretty good too if you don’t mind YA but I don’t think its cozy.
