Sometimes some words would trigger my painful memories as a kid.Flooded by these memories, I froze, zoned out and so hung up on figuring out why I can’t drag myself out of that situation at that time.

I’d like one book that could disperse the pain. I don’t wanna to be dragged into the past. I wanna be happy, strong and live in the moment. Any genre of books, like novels or non fiction books about psychology or other topics are all welcomed.

I don’t have any books to recommend, what I do have is a similar experience to you and EMDR therapy helped me. PTSD and trama are difficult (not impossible) to work through on your own, asking for help is hard but it can be really worthwhile if you’re open and willing (and able).

I hope you find something that works to help you work through the painful memories and triggers.

PTSD Sourceboook by Glenn R. Schiraldi

Every Memory Deserves Respect by Michael Baldwin – It’s about EMDR, which can be helpful for alleviating the pain of traumatic memories.

    3. The author/counselor Nicole LePera is someone you should read. Also her IG is worth following- she does lots of scenarious about flight/flight and attachment. No book can disperse your pain but they can give you some tools to notice and learn from what your body is telling you in those moments. I’d suggest looking at an EFT (emotionally focused therapy) counselor for meetings if you can add another level of work. Hang in there!
