Basically I really enjoy the mind games and calculating that comes from manga such as Kaiji, Gantz, Alice in Borderlands, Liars Game etc. and figured there would have to be a good novel equivelant as I am getting more into reading. Other media that is close to what I am after is the Cube movie series, Circle or even the novel "A Short Stay in Hell" by Steven L. Peck. Anything with intelligent characters trapped in circumstances with clearly defined rules that they explore, exploit and overcome.
Not interested in Hunger Games or Maze Runner.
